Princess of Illusions!

In the deep dark night,

Escaped Princess without fright,

Wanders and ponders,

The wondrous sleeping birds,

And joys of hidden words,

Dreams strolling on forest,

Leaves rustling around nests!

She sees an Old Man, staring into the Lake,

Her curious anxious eyes, now fully wide awake,

He sighs and smiles, at the still calm water,

Her legs walk near, while her thoughts scatter!

Hint of his lips, buried in his beard,

A familiar face appeared as she neared,

She knows not, if its dream or real,

As his scars show, pains of ordeal!

Questions abound,

Nostalgia wound,

She sits next to him,

Distant hymns, filling her to brim!

Primal instinct, heightened by still night,

Silent lake, holding full moon a-bright,

His radiant warmth, wrapping her tight,

Moonlit water, filling her sight!

Her face reflected, in his yearning eyes,

It was her, but in different size,

She knew not what to ask,

Vulnerable self exposed without mask,

He took her hand as if it was his task,

Jumped into the Moon,ready to Bask!

Ripples of water,springs a new memory,

She sees her past, beyond any theory!

Warrior,he was,in her past life,

She definitely was not,his long-lost wife,

T’was a world, full of strife,

T’was her aching heart,

That stopped his ways of knife!

She tended his wounds,

His joy knew no bounds,

Bonds forged by hearts of freedom,

Ponds shared by intuitive spiritual wisdom!

His love was her bait,

Promising each other, forever to wait,

Reality intervened, in each other’s fate,

Separated by lifetimes, two yearning soul mate!

He waits here for another chance,

She knows him in her dreams as they hold to dance,

This may all be,very well a trance,

But so are the ways of eternal Romance!
